July 28, 2012 GLINC collaborated with Fight4ATL at their 2nd annual National Water Gun Fight Day 2012. Inspired by Fight4ATL’s "Get Out and Get Active" motto, this event got us proactive about their health through physical activity. Fight4ATL strives to bring the Atlanta community together with a reminder to live without limits and have “fun without walls”. Thank you Fight4ATL.

Feb 29, 2012 GLINC took 30 youth to the Georgia State Capitol Building in conjunction with GA WAND, an organization that promotes voting and political awareness among woman and minorities in GA. This trip illuminated the power in educating our participants about legislative procedures in GA. The field trip also provided exposure to the effects of political lobbying have on our community and our future.

On Nov 4 2012, GLINC celebrated El Día de los Muertos at Atlantic Station. Rather than a time of mourning, Day of the Dead - observed November 1 through 2 - is a day of respect for ancestors. It is believed that spirits of the departed return to Earth for to celebrate life and death. This celebration included storytelling, crafts, Mexican food, dance and live music.
On Sept 10, 2011, GLINC participated in Agnes Scott College's annual Mentor Walk . The Mentor Walk allows college aged mentors and their mentees to promote mentorship, raise awareness of its benefits, and celebrate these relationships. The walk was a great way to promote healthy living.

On April 8, 2011, GLINC attended Emory University's annual Essence of Emory performance. Essence of Emory is an event to promote Latino and African American enrollment rates Performances included fraternaties and sororities, step teams, break dancing, belly dancing, Salsa dancing, African dancing and Caribbean dancing.
On July 23, 2011, GLINC had its first outing to Lake Lanier Beach Dam, in Buford, Georgia. A focus was placed on friendship building, team work skills, trust and support between participants and GLINC’s Executive Board before GLINC’s second semester at Campbell High School.
